- Fill in the information fields and follow the prompts in LEED Online to complete the registration. You may refer to the FAQs displayed on the right-hand side of the registration screen for help.
How can I locate a LEED Green Rater or Provider in my region?
Please reference the list of current Provider Organizations in the directory on usgbc.org and local LEED for Homes Green Raters. Also review the Guide to Certification: Residential for more information.
Who do I contact to ask for technical advice?
Please reach out to your project’s LEED Green Rater or Homes Provider for technical assistance. They can contact the LEED for Homes Technical Team if further guidance is required.
What is a pre-review?
A pre-review refers to the review of energy models, ventilation rate procedure calculators and outdoor water demand calculators (for LEED for Homes v2008/2010 only) prior to submitting for certification review.
Please review the Guide to Certification: Residential for more information and read up on the v2008 Verification and Submittal Guidelines / v4 Verification and Submittal Guidelines to check if your project is required to submit for a pre-review.
When should I pay certification fees for my homes project?
Certification fees can be paid on the following timeline to ensure accurate payments. Certification payment must be complete before GBCI begins the certification review.
- One single family home – You can pay certification fees anytime if the single family home will be certified individually. A good example of this is a custom home.
- Batch of single family homes – If your single family homes will be submitted in a batch, wait to pay the certification fees until you know exactly which projects are in the batch. You can get this information from your Green Rater.
- One multifamily building – Fees for any multifamily building are based on unit number and conditioned square feet. Pay the certification fees when these values are finalized and ensure they are correctly entered in LEED Online prior to generating your invoice. You can get this information from your Green Rater.
- Batch of multifamily buildings – If your multifamily buildings will be submitted in a batch, wait to pay the certification fees until you know exactly which projects are in the batch. You also will need to know the final unit number and conditioned square footage of each building. You can get this information from your Green Rater.
Review all LEED registration and certification fees.
I need to pay for a batch, but my projects are listed individually. How do I get them into a bulk registration group?
Email homes@gbci.org with the individual project IDs so we can assist with transferring them into a bulk registration group.
What should I do if I can't find or access my LEED for Homes projects in LEED Online?
Make sure you are in LEED Online's Homes section - first click 'Homes' from the Index list on the right-hand side after logging in to LEED Online. You may look through your list of projects or try searching by the name or project ID number of the individual project or bulk group. If you are unable to find it, please email homes@gbci.org with the project ID, address, city, state, or any other identifying information so that we can assist you further.
How can I get added to a project in LEED Online?
- Individual Projects: The LEED Project Administrator can add team members to the project in LEED Online through the Team tab. You must have a USGBC user account set up first in order to be added to a project's team.
- Bulk Registrations: Only the Provider, LEED Green Rater, and LEED Project Administrator can access a bulk project in LEED Online.
If you experience technical difficulties, please contact us at homes@gbci.org.
Someone else has my LEED for Homes projects in their account. How can I gain access?
Please email homes@gbci.org with the project ID, address, city, state or any other identifying information.
How can I change the rating system or upgrade the version of my Homes project?
Please note it is not possible to change the rating system, building type, or rating system version of an existing registration in LEED Online. You will need to re-register the project under the correct rating system and then contact us at homes@gbci.org to resolve any payment-related issues.
