Where can I find more information about sunset dates?
Information about sunset dates can be found on the LEED Certification Deadlines page. Additional information and explanation is provided in our article on this topic, LEED 2009 sunset dates and upgrade details.
Please have the LEED Project Team Administrator or LEED Project Owner contact us as far in advance as possible if your team is concerned that the sunset date/review deadlines cannot be met. Additional information regarding the certification process may be found in our Guide to LEED Certification.
Can we submit for an expedited review?
Expedited reviews are available for an additional fee on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to request an expedited review, please contact us at least 10 business days in advance of when you would like to submit for review, providing the project number, expected date of submission and confirming that the project team agrees to the additional fees. It will allow us to determine whether there is a review team available with the capacity to accommodate your project on an expedited timeline.
Can we request the same review team for a group of related projects?
While GBCI cannot guarantee the same review team will be assigned to your group of projects, we will make every effort to accommodate requests based on capacity. If you wish to request the same review team for your group of related projects, please contact us and include a list of project numbers and names that you would like to be reviewed by the same review team. In addition, if possible, please include an estimated initial review submittal date for each project.
Do design credits have to be submitted during the design application in a split review?
A complete application for Design Review must include complete submittal documentation for at least one design credit or prerequisite. The team always has the option to submit the remaining design credits as a part of the Construction Review Application. Any credit that is submitted for review must include complete documentation to demonstrate credit compliance. If the team would like to defer any credit to a later round of review so you can gather the necessary documentation, ensure that they are not marked "Ready for review" at the time of submission of the Design Review Application. Please note that only those design credits that are marked "Ready for Review" on the 'Credits' tab of LEED Online will be reviewed during the Design Review Application.
Lastly, please note that each credit is eligible to receive two rounds of review, as long as it is submitted by the construction preliminary review phase. If after two rounds of review, a credit is denied, the project team must submit for an Appeal review if they still wish to pursue the credit.
How do I mark as credit as "Ready for Review"?
Select the checkmark to the left of the credit name. The check mark will then turn green, and the status in the drop-down of the row will be updated.
How do I select which credits I want to submit for review?
You will have two opportunities each time you are getting ready to submit the project for review:
- On the credits page, only credits marked as "Ready for Review" will get selected for review. If a credit is not ready, these can be left marked as "Attempted".
- During the submission process, you will be asked to confirm the credits you wish to submit. Review this list, and de-select any credits that you would like to submit during a future round or review.
I’m having trouble submitting my project for review. What should I do?
In order to submit for review, the following conditions must be met:
- The payment for the project registration must be complete.
- All prerequisites must be complete and marked 'Ready for Review'.
- For a Design review, only Design prerequisites need to be complete. Construction prerequisites must be submitted during the Construction review phase.
- For group projects only, the number of buildings field in the details page must match the number of buildings field in the Project Information form.
- Lastly, the PIf2 form must be complete.
If the project team receives an error message when submitting for review, please contact us. Note: we recommend the project team include a screenshot of the error message with the inquiry.
For more information please refer to our Guide to LEED Certification.
Why can’t I submit my project for design review?
Please note at least one Design-phase credit must be attempted and marked 'Ready for Review' in LEED Online before you will be able to submit for design review.
For more information please refer to our Guide to LEED Certification.
Why can’t I submit for a combined review?
Please note all prerequisites and project information form(s), along with the minimum number of credits for certification must be attempted and marked 'Ready for Review' in LEED Online.
