How do I create a site user account?
Note: If you already have an account, please try to recover access to that account. See the FAQs below for guidance on how to reset your password or unblock your account.
If you would like to create a new account:
- Visit usgbc.org and select “Sign in” in the upper right corner. Alternatively, you may sign in on any USGBC or GBCI websites (see “What does my site user account provide access to?” below).
- Click the “Don’t have an account?” link.
- Fill in the required fields and select “Sign up“’ at the bottom of the page.
- You will receive an email with a validation link, which expires in 24 hours.
What does my site user account provide access to?
Your account will provide access to all USGBC and GBCI websites. If you change your password, it will apply to all USGBC and GBCI websites:

How do I reset my account password?
- Visit usgbc.org (or any other USGBC or GBCI website) and attempt to sign in.
- Click the “Reset your password” link on the log in page.
- Enter your account email address and click “Submit.”
- You will receive an email with instructions and a verification link, which expires in 24 hours. Follow the instructions in the email to enter your new password.
How do I change my account password?
If you are logged in to your account and would like to change your password, you can do so by following these steps:
- Initiate the password change using one of the following two options:
- Option 1: Navigate to usgbc.org/account or gbci.org/account and select the Password “Edit” link.
- Option 2: If on leedonline.com or arcskoru.com, hover over the account avatar in the upper right corner and select the Change password option from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the current password, enter a new password, confirm the new password, and then click "Submit."
- Wait for the update to sync across applications, then log back in.
How do I change my account email address?
If you are logged in to your account and would like to change the associated email address, you can do so by following these steps:
- Navigate to usgbc.org/account and select the Email “Edit” link.
- Enter the new email, confirm the new email, and then click "Save."
- You will receive an email with instructions and a validation link, which expires in 24 hours.
I have more than one account. How do I merge these accounts?
If you have multiple accounts across separate email addresses, contact us to request merging accounts and provide the following information:
- Email address of the account you wish to keep
- Email address of the account(s) you wish to merge
When merging accounts, the following items will be moved to the merged account:
- Active and expired credential history. CE hours will not be transferred; retain a record of your existing CE hours or download a CE activity transcript.
- Project roles in LEED Online
- Education access, including education courses, web-based reference guide and publications
- Active and expired membership history: If you are the primary contact of your membership account, please indicate if the merged account should retain this role.
How does someone join a project team?
In order for a team member to join a LEED project, they must have a USGBC/GBCI account. To create an account, please complete the following steps:
- Visit usgbc.org and select “Sign in” in the upper right corner.
- Click the “Don’t have an account?” link.
- Fill in the required fields and select “Sign up” at the bottom of the page.
- You will receive an email with a validation link, which expires in 24 hours.

Is the single sign-on system secure?
Yes, single sign-on (SSO) is a highly secure authentication method. It streamlines access management and reduces password-related risks. We've implemented robust measures to safeguard your data and ensure your online activities remain secure.
What happens if I am blocked from my account?
After five unsuccessful attempts at entering your password, your account will be blocked. Please click the “Reset password” button to prevent your account from being blocked. If you are locked out of your account, email info@usgbc.org to request resetting your password.
Why do I have to agree to terms and conditions again?
The terms and conditions have been updated with our new single sign on, and users need to accept the new terms and conditions upon signing in.
Why is my password no longer saved in my site user account?
The sign on URL was updated on Oct. 9 for the websites listed below and your previously saved password was not saved.

For security purposes, we recommend not saving your site user account passwords in your web browser. If you need to reset your password, click the “Reset password” link.
Where can I find my previously saved password?
For security purposes, we recommend not saving your passwords to web browsers. If you have previously saved your password to a web browser, you can review, edit or delete all saved passwords within your browser settings. Depending on the browser you saved your password to, you can typically view your saved passwords by:

- Go to menu
- Click passwords
- Search passwords based on USGBC/GBCI URLs
For Chrome:
- Go to menu
- Click Google password manager
- Search passwords based on USGBC/GBCI URLs
For Edge:
- Go to menu
- Click on settings
- Click passwords
- Search passwords based on USGBC/GBCI URLs
Why am I not allowed to log in with my previous password?
Your previous password likely does not meet the new password requirements. For example, passwords with fewer than eight characters are no longer supported. If you try to log in with a password that no longer meets the password requirements, you will be instructed to reset your password.

Where do I locate my GBCI number?
A GBCI (Green Business Certification, Inc.) number is assigned when a user account is established. Your GBCI number can be found at the top of your Credential Dashboard: usgbc.org/account/credentials.
