What are the registration and sunset deadlines?
New registrations close December 31, 2025. Certification and recertification applications will be accepted through December 31, 2026.
When is the last day to submit for PEER certification?
Projects seeking PEER certification must submit all required documentation to GBCI by December 31, 2026.
What happens to active registered projects?
Registered project can use current requirements and will be supported through completion until December 31, 2026.
What happens to previously certified PEER projects?
PEER certifications remain valid and will continue to be publicly listed. We will continue to recognize PEER project leadership and invite project team input as we develop targeted tools and guidance.
Are certifications still valid after retirement?
Yes. PEER certifications remain valid. Project listings will be preserved in a public registry.
Where will PEER project listings and guidance live?
The PEER website will remain available with the public registry and guidance resources. This will shift to a page or pages embedded within the USGBC/GBCI websites over the year.
Can projects still recertify?
Yes. Recertification is available through December 31, 2026 under current requirements.
