The USGBC member logo is a badge of honor and is yours to wear proudly. Promoting your membership by including the USGBC member logo in your marketing materials and resources is a great way to showcase your organization’s commitment to advancing green building practices across the globe. It symbolizes your efforts to transform the spaces where we live, work, and play.
Celebrate and share your membership
USGBC encourages all its members to use the organization's logo in various ways, such as on their websites, in marketing materials, in print ads, in social media posts, and in tradeshow exhibit materials. We suggest a few ways to display your member logo below, but we also encourage you to be creative and develop other ways that best suit your business needs. If you have any questions regarding our logo usage, please feel free to contact us.
Website
Adding the logo to your homepage and website footer is an excellent way to showcase your commitment to green building. Link the logo to your organizational profile in the directory on usgbc.org, or to usgbc.org or the membership page. Adding the logo to other digital promotions, such as your email newsletter footer, is also encouraged.
Marketing and printed materials
Celebrate your commitment to green building by including your affiliation with USGBC in your marketing materials, including advertisements, marketing brochures, flyers, printed promotional materials, and even on your exhibition and tradeshow booth. Always use high-quality artwork provided by USGBC for printed materials to ensure clarity and legibility. Also, make sure the logo is sized legibly and proportionally to other elements--it shouldn't be smaller than 50px on its shortest side. This will maintain the integrity of the logo and the readability of its text.
- Download the member logo in the user account section of the USGBC website.
Social media
Amplify your commitment to green building by incorporating the USGBC member logo in your social media graphics or explicitly mentioning your proud affiliation in your posts. Remember to include the @usgbc handle in your messages. This increases the visibility of your commitment and encourages your audience to explore and understand our mission.
Tips to keep in mind
These instructions are intended to support members in properly using the USGBC member logo, ensuring it aligns with USGBC's branding standards:
-
You can only use the member logo if your USGBC membership is active. Don't use the logo if your organization's USGBC membership is terminated or lapsed.
- Only use artwork files provided by USGBC. Download the member logo in the user account section of the USGBC website.
- Follow all guidance details in the USGBC Trademark Policy and Branding Guidelines. Contact USGBC's Marketing Department with any questions.
- Leave plenty of space around the logo to keep it clear and uncluttered.
- If you reduce the size of the logo, check that it's still easy to see. Aim for no less than 50px on the smallest side.
- Avoid making the USGBC member logo the most prominent visual element on business and marketing materials. The user’s name and logo must be significantly more significant than the member logo.
- Don't alter the logo shape, proportion, color, or orientation. Please just keep the logo only as it appears in its original files.
- Don't wrap additional text around the logo, integrate it into other logos, or enclose it in another graphic. The USGBC member logo is intended to stand alone.
- Don’t use previous USGBC member logo designs. The circular USGBC member logo was retired in June 2020.
