Does GBCI audit course delivery to ensure compliance with the continuing education course criteria?
Yes, GBCI may audit course delivery to ensure compliance. If a course is found to be out of compliance, the course is disapproved for use and reapplication cannot be made for one year.
What does "Expired" status mean?
A course in "Expired" status means that the course has been active for the full course lifespan of three years after its original approval date and is no longer considered an active course. An expired course cannot be offered for GBCI CE credit.
If you want to update the course and resubmit it for a new GBCI CEU approval, a new course submission must be completed (standard course review fees apply).
If a course is not approved, do I have to purchase another course review in order to resubmit?
Each course will receive two rounds of review. If your course is not approved after two rounds of review, you must purchase an additional Course Review to re-submit it again.
How can I display that an approved course qualifies for GBCI CE hours in my advertising or presentation?
To signal that a course has been approved for continuing education by GBCI, state that the course has been approved for a specific number of GBCI CE hours and display the GBCI course ID number. Specify whether the CE is LEED, SITES, or WELL rating system-specific or a General course for accurate reporting. LEED-specific courses need to state the specialty. We have created a graphic to assist course submitters in promoting education courses as GBCI approved. Download the promotion slide.
Can I make edits to my course after it has been approved?
Course edits can only be made if the course is submitted for a new review. A new course review fee will apply.
