Can I use ENERGY STAR's Portfolio Manager (ESPM) to send my data into Arc?
Yes, you can. Arc uses an API that connects Portfolio Manager to the Arc platform. This provides a simple process for getting your energy and water consumption data into Arc. There are a couple of steps needed to facilitate this data exchange:
In Portfolio Manager:
- Share the building's profile with "USGBC LEED(LEEDPERFORMANCEREPORTING)".
- Include the LEED property ID* (for LEED v5 projects) or LEED project ID (For LEED v4.1 projects) under Standard IDs.
See Arc and data input for more details or a how-to video.
If your data does not sync in 48 hours, contact us with a subject of "Data sync between Portfolio Manager and Arc". Make sure to include the project ID or property ID, the ESPM ID, ESPM project name, and the project address as shown in ESPM in the body of your message.
Can a LEED LEED v4 project still meet the credit requirements if gaps exist in the data provided for the recertification performance period?
Data must be provided from consecutive months, but may include collection gaps when reasonable and justifiable. Examples include:
- Management or staff change results in tracking pause or delay in audit delivery.
- Change in vendor with transition time for reporting purchases, applications, etc.
- An issue with energy or water monitoring devices or programs.

Do LEED LEED v4 projects have to resubmit documentation for each credit attempted during recertification?
Each LEED Online form includes separate establishment and performance sections that correspond to the establishment and performance requirements for each prerequisite and credit in the recertification version of the rating system.
During a project’s initial certification, the establishment and performance sections in each form must be completed. In each subsequent recertification application, establishment documentation is required only if major changes have been made.
For new credits pursued during recertification, both the establishment and performance sections in each form must be completed.
