Registering a group project
Is a campus or master site registration necessary to register a group project?
No, a group project can be registered without a campus or master site. However, a group project can also be registered within a master site as a campus group project.
What are the fees for using the Group Approach?
As noted on our certification fees page, registration, precertification review, and certification review fees for group projects are calculated per building. Precertification and certification review fees receive a 20% discount from standard LEED BD+C, ID+C, or O+M rates. Appeals and formal inquiry fees are charged per credit, not per building or space.
If a ID+C project involves multiple, non-contiguous spaces within a single building, does it need to use the Group Approach to seek certification as a single project?
No. Multiple interior spaces may be included within a single ID+C individual project registration as long as they are all contained within a single building, as noted in the related FAQ "Can I certify multiple, non-contiguous spaces within a single building under one LEED v4 ID+C individual project registration?" on Minimum Program Requirements. However, if an ID+C project involves interior spaces located in separate buildings, it would have to use the Group Approach explained in the LEED Campus Guidance.
Group project credits and documentation
How do I complete and submit separate documentation for each building in a group project?
For group projects, credits and prerequisites not eligible for the group approach require a separate credit form and supporting documentation for each building/space included in the group.
Use the editable PDF forms from our sample forms page to prepare these documents. After saving* them offline, upload the completed forms and supporting documentation to the "special circumstances" section of the project's LEED Online form.
* Ensure each file name clearly indicates the relevant building or space.
