Is a campus or master site registration necessary to register a group project?
No, a group project can be registered without a campus or master site. However, a group project can also be registered within a master site as a campus group project.
What are the fees for using the Group Approach?
As noted on our Fees page, registration, precertification review and certification review fees for Group Projects are equivalent to what would be charged if each building within the group were registered and reviewed as a separate LEED project. However, fees for appeals and formal inquiries are assessed per Group Project, not per building or space within the group. Please also note that Campus Group Projects are not eligible for the 20% discount on certification fees, even if they are registered within a Master Site and utilizing campus credits from that Master Site.
How do I complete and submit separate forms for each building in a Group Project for those credits where it is indicated that you must submit separate documentation for each building?
For group projects using PDF-based forms, please refer to page 11 of the LEED Campus Guidance for instructions on 'Completing Forms for Group Projects'.
For group projects with credits where HTML (web-based) form functionality has been implemented, teams can still follow a similar approach, but for Step 2 please use the PDF-based forms available through the Sample Forms page of our website to make additional, editable, and upload-able copies of credit forms. This is because the HTML-based forms lose functionality and are not editable once they are saved in PDF format.

If a ID+C project involves multiple, non-contiguous spaces within a single building, does it need to use the Group Approach to seek certification as a single project?
No. Multiple interior spaces may be included within a single ID+C Individual Project registration as long as they are all contained within a single building, as noted in the related FAQ "Can I certify multiple, non-contiguous spaces within a single building under one LEED v4 ID+C Individual Project registration?" on Minimum Program Requirements. However, if an ID+C project involves interior spaces located in separate buildings, it would have to use the Group Approach explained in the LEED Campus Guidance.
